  • Best for Price

    By Steffy on 11/25/2021

This SS 16X42 Mil Quad is going on a 6.5 Creedmoor for up to 1,000 yard steel. I sold the exact same type scope 5 years ago and regretted selling it. I am not a scope/equipment snob - if it works use it with confidence then quit looking. These scopes qualify for my needs and are good optically and superior mechanically. The reticle is perfect for my needs, adjustments are excellent. The durability is excellent should I want to use it on my .375 LR wildcat having smashing recoil.

  • Recent order - satisfied customer

By Carson E. Wells, Canterbury, NH on 4/1/2020

Recently, I placed an order with you for a 16X rifle scope. It arrived today, and while the package contained exactly what I ordered, I must admit, it did not contain what I expected. I had heard talk of your scopes’ excellent quality and value, but talk is , shall we say, inexpensive. But when I first put the scope to my eye, I was astonished at the clear bright clarity of the image. I do own scopes with better glass, but the two that come to mind cost me three times and five times the price that you asked. While the reticle that you use would definitely not have been my first choice, had a choice been available, I am astonished by the perfect clean markings. Every line is perfect, straight, square, with absolutely no variation in line thickness, and no waves or ripples to mar the edges. It is a work of art that keeps drawing my view, simply for the pleasure of looking at that reticle. The turrets offer clean sharp clicks that leave no doubt that a click has been taken. Perhaps they are clearly audible as well, but I’m afraid that I have lost so much of my hearing that an integrated loudspeaker would still be insufficient.
In short, you have an extremely! satisfied customer. No matter how many guns I may buy, sell, or trade in my future, that scope will always come off and stay here. It’s a keeper, one that I expect my great-grandson to pass on. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

  • Excellent

By Todd G, NY on 1/11/2019

Excellent company! I have bought six fixed power scopes over a few years. The SWFA SS scopes are well made and have an excellent price, which you do not see very often. The staff is all well informed and courteous. I have never had a problem.

  • Perfect fit for the 6.5 Creedmoor

    By 65Creedmoor on 6/13/2018

I chose this glass to sit on my Ruger Precision Rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor after comparing to a plethora of other brands in both fixed and variable options. It took months of deliberation to settle on this particular model, but it was worth the time I took.

The glass is crystal clear and images are sharp in all light conditions. The rear focus is perfect for my shooting style (a lefty with a right hand bolt gun). The MIL Quad and MIL adjustments are excellent for LR shooting. The tracking on this scope is by far the best I have had my hands on and is dead on precise. The turret knobs adjust with solid clicks and zero sloppiness in between adjustment clicks. There is a ton of adjustment travel for elevation and windage. For me, less gadgets to adjust means more concentration on the shot so I chose a fixed power of 16x for mile long shots and under. I have not regretted my choice one bit as the mirage issues my shooting buddies complain about with their variable higher magnification glass has not been a big problem for me. The 16x is the lowest power I would recommend for that distance. I do not feel under glassed by any means and the field of view is very good for target acquisition compared to higher magnification optics my friends use. In a situation where fast target ranging is required, you can guesstimate distance to target with the focus feature, but it is not 100% a ranging device. That being said, it has worked quite well when put to the test just for fun.

I did install the sunshade and butler creek cap set which I highly suggest you purchase as well. They are very effective accessories that are worth the money.

I highly recommend this glass in particular to anyone interested in LR shooting with any caliber. Extreme quality at a price most folks can afford is what almost everyone is looking for. Look no further, you have found it.

    Happy shooting!

  • Tough As Nails

    By Gh0sT3D on 3/26/2018

I bought this scope for a Remington 700 in 308 that I planned on shooting exclusively at 300+ yards. The scope performs perfectly, allowing me to accurately dial in shots past 1,000 yards in the mountains without issue. While I never did a tracking test on paper, this scope never has any problem dialing in large corrections and then coming right back to zero. The scope is tough as nails and deadly reliable. I went on to purchase 5 more SWFA scopes after my experience with this one.

P.S. The mil-quad is SO much easier to mil with than standard mil dots. This includes all the features you need for a long-range scope with none that you do not. I highly recommend for any precision rifle.

  • Perfect For AAFTA Hunter Class

By OldGuy with an Airgun on 12/6/2017

I purchased the SS 16x42 Milrad Riflescope right after the American Airgun Field Target Association (AAFTA) changed the rule for Hunter Class to allow a 16x scope. The rules for hunter class do not allow varying the power of the scope or using the click feature of elevation or windage knobs. So not paying for all the additional expense of the increased optics required by variable power is the way to go. For those who intend to continue in the Hunter class, this is definitely the very best way to go. The optics are clear. The reticle is not too busy; it is just right. So you say "I will want to graduate to Open Class when I get better". Well it is my serious opinion that you will not need to go variable. Once you have gotten used to this great scope you need to merely add clicking. Varying the power will not really help that much and you needn't add the extra expense and degraded optics of a variable scope. I have gotten so used to using a single power scope that I find varying the power confusing especially on a second focal plane reticle. If it's on the first focal plane, the reticles get so busy as to be nearly useless when you are focusing close. The only drawback of the SWFA SS is that it only focuses down to 10M and Field Targets get as close as 10 yards. However, the difference is about 2 feet 10 inches. Do yourself a favor and buy this for all your air gun field target shooting.

Great scope, really nice, clear view...Only complaint...couldn't you include even a cheap set of lens covers with a $300 scope?!
