Specifications

Maxim Defense PDX 5.56 NATO Specifications

Born from the SOCOM PDW solicitation, the Maxim Defense PDX™ is designed to handle the fierce demands of the Tier 1 community. The PDX™ dominates close quarter encounters and achieves maximum energy on target. At just 18.75” in overall length, the PDX™ delivers groundbreaking power and performance in a subcompact platform.

At the heart of the PDX™ is Maxim Defense's newly developed Maxim SCW™ stock system. This patent-pending system cuts down the length of the stock to 4”. The integrated BCG with interchangeable buffer weights gives you maximum performance and versatility without sacrificing form and functionality. The PDX uses a Direct Impingement system.

The PDX™ is also equipped with newly invented Maxim Hatebrake™ muzzle booster. This patent-pending device significantly reduces recoil, decreases the flash signature, pushes gasses and concussion wave downrange away from the operator and improves overall performance in short barrel pistols and rifles.

  • Yikes!!!

    By Lone Ranger on 12/8/2019

I’ve put somewhere around 800 rounds through it ranging from Lake City M193 to IMI Razorcore SMK 77g BTHP to some el cheapo .223 62g FMJ. Ate everything with zero failures. You can tell the difference through the hate brake, garbage powder leaving a distinct signature whereas quality powder consistently produced nearly zero flash. Recoil is very manageable, note that the pistol brace is much more comfortable on the shoulder than the rifle stock and I prefer it. Save your self the tax stamp circus on this one. The ALG trigger is solid and crisp, but mil-spec heavy at 4.97#. It’s an up-close gun, and I likely won’t change it. Just shy of 19” OAL collapsed, fits nicely in a daypack. I’m running a Trijicon MRO (2 MOA Green Dot) on a Geisselle Super Precision Mount. If you spot me at ETTS you can give it a test drive. SWFA customer service was spot on as always and competitive on price. Happy Jarhead!
