  • Good glass!

    By Redneck 2.0 on 8/5/2018

I just bought this scope and had the opportunity to take it once to the range. Therefore, my review may change over time. However, thus far, first impressions are very positive.

The scope looks solid and well built. Yet, it is pretty light for a scope of this size. I have mounted mine on American Rifle Company high rings. I could have probably got away with medium rings, but I do not mind the extra clearance.

The scope comes with a sun shield and lens covers. The lens covers are cheaply made and they tend to bend easily, especially the front one. I replaced the front lens cover with a Vortex Defender.

Zeroing the scope was a little tricky as I was not able to get a clear picture and reticle view at 25 yards. However, I was still able to put the rounds where I wanted so that it would work at a 100 yards. Once I increased the distance, I got the benefits of the HD glass. Everything is crystal clear with this scope. On a bright sunny day, I was not able to pick any chromatic aberration. The image is crisp and accurate all the way to the edges.

I like the TMR reticle. I debated for a while whether to pick the TMR or a X-Mas tree reticle. I gravitate towards simpler designs so this one works for me. I like the small dot at the center of the reticle. It allows for very precise shot placement on small objects/targets. I do not get that with cross type reticles that tend to cover more target area.

The turrets work fine and the zero stop feature is easy to use. The clicks are very tactile. I was able to zero the scope and lock the zero stops very quickly. Do not forget to bring the allen key. I could only test the scope up to 300 yards, but the turret corrections seem accurate so far and the zero stop does what it is supposed to.

So does it shoot any good? Most of my shooting was sub-0.5 MOA with this scope. I have it set where my cheek weld is just perfect and I find it very easy to pick the reticle and make accurate shots.
