  • Love this scope

    By Rayzor on 2/8/2022

I have never owned a scope and started doing research on scopes. After about 2 weeks of reviewing videos and reading articles I decided to purchase the SWFA SS 12x42 for my AR 15. I went to the range and zeroed my scope for 200 yards. I was surprised how quickly I was able to zero the scope. This scope was very clear down range. It also tracked very well. So far I am very impressed with my purchase and plan to buy 3 more in the future for my other rifles. I plan on buying the 10x42 and 16x42.

  • Perfect for a Precision Rimfire

    By JHohn on 11/14/2018

I have this scope mounted to my CZ455 in a Boyd's Varmint stock. This is a perfect scope for rimfire target shooting because of the parallax, which focuses down to 10 meters.

The glass is far beyond what you have ever expected in a $300 optic. The turret tracking is dead on and it always holds zero. If your zero drifts, it is the gun or ammunition, not the scope.

The reticle is fine enough for target work without being too thin.

It is a little big and a little heavy, but those are small prices to pay for such an amazing value in a quality scope.

  • Outstanding

    By Oafin Tomtom on 2/23/2018

I bought this for my Ruger Precision Rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor. I have over 400 rounds through this rifle with this scope and so far all has been perfect.

On my last outing, I got to shoot 32"x 32" steel targets at 1126 yards. The DOPE said +11 mils and that was close. I was able to hit steel all afternoon and dial back to 100 yards with no issue.

I have spent a lot of time looking at optics and I don't think you can beat the value of the SS fixed power scopes. I am planning on getting an SWFA SS 20X next for longer shots.

  • Super good buy

    By lotsofgunz on 9/27/2017

    Lots of good things:

    High quality glass
Useful etched reticle (both on mil quad & moa quad)
Best selection to mount on Ruger M77 type rifles - scopes have extremely wide range of adjustments and scopes have adequate mount/tube areas for good eye relief (those non adjust M77 30mm factory rings)
    Accurate repeatable adjustments

The exit pupil area of the 12X42 is about 80% greater than that of the 16X42 and the 12X provides enough magnification even for small varmints (rodents)

The only somewhat negative thing is the rear mounted parallax adjust is sort of sensitive when adjusting over 300 yards.

I have 3 of these scopes and at $300 each this is $900 and if I had something equivalent @ $1000 I would have $3000 in scopes - lotz of $

  • Awesome Scope

    By Dan on 5/29/2017

I use my SS 12x42MQ scope on my Remington 308 rifle for long range shooting. I am constantly changing the elevation and windage to shoot at the different distances of 200, 300, 400 and 600 yards. The repeatability of the turrets is excellent and so is the optical clarity of the scope. This is an awesome scope for the price.

  • With Savage 308

    By Del on 4/21/2017

    Gun: Dick's Savage 308 24 inch heavy barrel Accutrigger/stock
Bullet: 168gr Hornady Match, 200 yard zero
Temp 58 degrees at 500 yards
2.5 mil elevation, 4 inch groups

glass clear. turrets great and repeatable, mil cross hairs fantastic
    4 inch groups.
I feel this scope and the 3x15x42 front focal will both shoot good at 1000yards

I will not buy any other scope. and I have never had one negative comment or reaction from anyone looking through it.
Great value and quality. just bought another 10x 42 mill and the 1x4x24.
I have junked my Nikon, Vortex, Bushnell for these scopes.
Is it a Chromatic lens for $2,000.00, no.
will this combination compete out to 1000 yards, all day long. and that is what quality and value represents.

  • Great Scope

    By Curt on 12/17/2016

First off, when you compare this scope to other scopes in the $1000+ range, you really can't tell the difference in optic glass quality. However, when I compared the tracking to these other scopes, I was amazed! This scope tracks perfect every time. I've got well over 500 rounds down my rifle using this scope, ran a tracking test and still perfect. Comes right back to zero and dials where you want it to go!
